Learn how you can be part our community...

We provide training, upskilling, resources and buddy’s to make being involved in any way, at any stage as easy and fun as possible. We also offer programme fee rebates for some coaching and support roles.

It’s pretty simple, just some leg work and a helping hand. A map and instructions are provided for each station or event. This can involve coming 30-45min early depending on the programme.

Help shape the future of our club. Join a focused team to guide event planning and oversee specific programs. Help us stay in touch with those in our community, so we continue to improve and grow our programmes and make a lasting impact on our operations and community.

Be the anchor for our athletes. No athletics skills necessary, just a desire to connect, help athletes feel seen and heard. Learn names, give our great high fives and sharpen your encouragement skills! Whilst guiding your group, make sure everyone is where they need to be and support their participation with the coach/station leader.

You do not need any prior coaching experience to be great at this. We provide fully planned activities, structured programs, and on-field support, so you know what to do and feel confident and supported. Your role is simply to run the station, share plenty of encouragement, and help kids of all ages have fun while giving it their best.

Keep our events running smoothly and efficiently. You will be right in the action – measuring throws, raking the long jump pit, returning equipment, or helping manage the starting line queue. No prior experience is needed, just a willingness to pitch in.

Be part of the engine room that keeps the club moving. This role covers the crucial off-field tasks like managing our social media, organizing community fundraisers, coordinating parent rosters, and assisting with athlete registrations. Ideal for those who love organization and outreach.

Fuel our unprecedented growth and help sustain the largest athletics club in the South Island. Whether through direct financial sponsorship, donating equipment, or providing professional services, your contribution bridges the critical gap between our operational capacity and our rapidly expanding athlete base. This is a powerful way for local businesses, families, and community members to back our athletes and keep our programs thriving.

Yes, please enquire about how you can be involved.

We understand that volunteering isn’t always possible for some families, and don’t want any children to miss out on the opportunity to participate. We can accommodate a small number of families who cannot support the club with a volunteer on the roster.

We only charge $25 per member per year over the ANZ and CA fees, which only cover the basic operational costs of the club. This helps to remove financial barriers to participation, but also means that we rely on volunteers to deliver the main club programs.

We have developed a support program for our volunteers, which includes some on-site training and also online training that can be done in your own time. Our club leaders are always here to help!

We request that you arrange your own roster swap whenever possible.

Volunteering can be with your child’s group, or you can be on a roster, so you don’t miss out on seeing them enjoy the program.
