First Summer Club Night - Monday 12th October
This programme is for ages 5-12yrs old, currently there is no have-a-go availability for this programme, but there are spaces available in all ages. Please enquire if you wish to join the pre-season waitlist.
First Summer Academy - Wednesday 14th October
This programme is for ages 10-12yrs old, there may be have-a-go availability for this programme if it is not full when the season starts, so please enquire if you wish to join the pre-season waitlist.
First Summer Development Squad - Tuesday 13th October
This programme is for ages 13-15yrs old, there may be have-a-go availability for this programme if it is not full when the season starts, so please enquire if you wish to join the pre-season waitlist.
First Summer Senior Squad - Tuesday 13th October
This programme is for ages 15yrs+ there may be have-a-go availability for this programme if it is not full when the season starts, so please enquire if you wish to join the pre-season waitlist.
First Junior Interclub - Saturday 17th October
Junior Interclub offers two have-a-go days anytime during the season. Please enquire if you wish to learn more about competition and register to have-a-go.
First Senior Interclub - Saturday 23rd October
Athletes can try competition at any time. Please enquire if you wish to learn more about competition and register to have-a-go.
Competitive Events Schedules & Links
Colgate Games - January 15-17 2027 - Grades 7-14 years
Entry is open to any child aged 7-14 years who is a member of an affiliated athletics club, and both events present an opportunity for children to compete in a fun and encouraging environment.
You don’t need to be selected or be a top athlete, though medals are awarded for 10-14 year old’s in each event. For 7-9 year old’s, the focus is on participation.

National Secondary School championships - December 2026
This event is for athletes at high school, you compete on behalf of your school- Check out there website For more information and contact your school to enter.
South Island Combined Events Championships - November 2026
This event is for athletes interested in competing in a multi-event, (Combined event) such as the heptathlon, Decathlon or shorter Pentathlon and Octathlon. Ages U16 and above. Contact us for more information.

Club Welcome Sessions
We’ll be holding some club welcome and info sessions Saturday 26th September and Sunday 27th September for all new families, returning families and those wanting to learn more (Where programme space is available).
Academy & Development On-Boarding Sessions
We’ll be holding some Academy & Developmnt On-Boarding Sessions for athletes and parents 26th September and Sunday 27th September for all new families, returning families and those wanting to learn more (Where programme space is available).
Athletics NZ Coach development Sessions
Athletics New Zealand is holding some CAD (Coaching Athletic Development) Sessions in the October school holidays – We highly recommend any parents involved in our programmes attend these. Final times and dates TBC.
Officials Level 1 Courses
Athletics Canterbury is hosting several up-coming officialling courses:
- Sunday 5th September – Refresher course, EDM, Board Camera Setups, Event Setups, Sector Tapes, measuring/weighing Implements. Call room setup (maybe if we have time) this will be between 0900 to 12:00 at the NPW Marshmallow. That will be led by myself and a few other senior officials.
- Sunday 13th September – Level one T & F Course and Exam 0900 to 12:00 NPW Boardroom then 1200 to 1300 NPW Track familiarisation. Led by myself and hoping to involve some other senior officials.
